JXCirrus Maths is a free and open source graphical application implemented in Java and designed from the offset as a math tool for children who want to learn times tables and basic maths functions.

Features at a glance

Key features include support for setting up a specific number of exercises per child, support for recording the fastest time for a specific exercise, support for division and times tables, support for subtraction and addition, support for sharing exercises across multiple computers through cloud services like Dropbox or Box, as well as the ability to compete against your fastest time.

In addition, the software can be configured to set up exercises for an unlimited number of kids, supports scheduled exercises, which can be run once a session, once a week or once a day. It is also possible to configure the app to display photos from a family album, which will change automatically every time an exercise is completed. A comprehensive manual is also included.

Getting started with JXCirrus Maths

To use the application, you must first download the latest version from the official website or via Softoware, save the zip archive somewhere on your computer, unpack it, access the extracted folder and double-click the ‘install.sh’ file to install it.

A shortcut will be created on the desktop, so you can easily open the program and let your kid learn some basic math functions/operations. Its graphical user interface is simple and intuitive.
