Welcome to iRunTrains, your new 3D model railroad simulation application for Macintosh. You can think of iRunTrains as a virtual train set on your Mac, allowing you to control the speed and direction of multiple trains in real-time on a virtual model railroad. Operate and view your trains in a variety of fun ways on the six included layouts. We are developing iRunTrains in partnership with MacRailSoft to be compatible with their RailModeller design application. When our future commercial release (v1.0) is ready, you will be able to export any track-plan from RailModeller, then immediately use iRunTrains to run trains on it. This is also an experimental feature of our current release, in case you want to give it a try now. In addition to being extremely fun, it is a great way to test-drive your next model railroad project before you start building the real thing.

What is new in this release:

Both diesel and steam engines that produce exhaust.
Larger variety of rolling stock.
Limited ability to modify train consist (but no coupling/uncoupling yet).
Sixteen bundled valley and island layouts.
Simulated seaside and lake water.
Finally some structures. Buildings, bridges, loading docs, etc.
Automatic train and turnout labels that appear and hide automatically.
SLIF import of both RailModeler v4.0 and v4.1 designs.
Internal optimizations to improve frame-rate performance
