Bitnami Piwik Stack

Bitnami Piwik Stack is a free and multiplatform software project that has been designed from the offset to deliver an all-in-one solution for greatly simplifying the deployment of the Piwik application and its runtime dependencies on desktop computers and laptops. It can be deployed using native installers, a virtual machine, cloud images, LAMP modules, as well as a Docket container.

What is Piwik?

Piwik is an open source and free realtime web analytics software program that provides you with detailed reports on your website visitors, such as the search engines and keywords they use, your popular pages, the language they speak, and much more.

Installing Bitnami Piwik Stack

Bitnami’s native installers for Piwik were packaged using BitRock's cross-platform installer tool, which means that they support all GNU/Linux distributions, as well as the Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X operating systems. To install Piwik on your computer, simply download the file that corresponds to your computer’s hardware architecture (32-bit and 64-bit), run it and follow the on-screen instructions.

Run Piwik on the cloud

In addition to installing Piwik on a personal computer, you can also run it on the cloud using Bitnami’s pre-built cloud images that have been designed to deploy Piwik on Amazon EC2 or Windows Azure cloud hosting providers.

Virtualize Piwik or use the Docker container

Another great way to run Piwik, is to use the virtual machine image from Bitnami, which has been designed to run on Oracle VirtualBox, as well as VMware ESX/ESXi virtualization software. The VM image is based on the latest stable (LTS) version of the Ubuntu Linux distribution. Additionally, Bitnami will offer a Docker container for Piwik.

The Bitnami Piwik Module

Besides the Bitnami Piwik Stack product reviewed here, Bitnami also offers a module for the Bitnami LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP) server, allowing you to easily deploy Piwik without its runtime dependencies. Bitnami Piwik Module is available for download on Softoware, free of charge!
