Bitnami OpenProject Module is a free and multiplatform native installer that lets users installing the OpenProject web-based application on top of a Bitnami Ruby Stack without having to deal with its runtime dependencies.
What is OpenProject?
OpenProject is a platform-independent, completely free and open source web-based software that has been designed from the ground up to act as a project management application. It includes a powerful plugin architecture, an active community and dozens of powerful features.
Installing Bitnami OpenProject Module
Installing the OpenProject application on top of your Bitnami Ruby Stack has never been easier, as the project is distributed as pre-built binaries in the .run file format, supporting 64-bit and 32-bit Linux platforms.
To install it, download the package that corresponds to your PC’s architecture, save the binary on a location of your choice, make it executable by activating the “Allow executing file as program” option found under the Permissions tab of the file Properties dialog (via right-click context menu), double-click it and follow the instructions dispayed on the screen.
Virtualize OpenProject or run it in the cloud
Besides installing the OpenProject application on personal computers, on top of a Bitnami Ruby Stack, you can virtualize it on the VMware ESX/ESXi and Oracle VirtualBox virtualization software using the virtual appliance based on the latest Long Term Support version of Ubuntu Linux.
In addition, it is possible to run OpenProjec in the cloud on the Windows Azure or Amazon EC2 cloud hosting providers, thanks to Bitnami’s pre-built cloud images. A Docker container for OpenProject is also available on the project’s website.

If you don’t want to deploy OpenProject on top of a Bitnami Ruby Stack, you can always use the Bitnami OpenProject Stack product, an all-in-one solution for installing OpenProject and its runtime dependencies on a personal computer.
