Biowrap is a patented data protection service that leverages the cloud to eliminate the complexities of encryption, offering an immediate impact solution to certify, protect, track and control all types of digital information, at all times (at rest and in motion).
Easy-to-use, Biowrap allows users (individual or system) to protect any digital information, designate expiration settings and specify precisely who is authorized to gain access. A central web management console provides users with customized enterprise-grade Accountability Reports, enterprise user management and real-time controls for file expiration.
Biowrap employs identity based multi-layer encryption [biometric/PKI (all x509 certificates)/username-password] to certify the identity and credentials (company, group, industry, etc.) of an individual creating encrypted files. Encrypted files are stamped with the level of authentication used to perform the encryption.
Simplified decryption is publicly available in the form of a Reader application, secure website (https://mybiowrap.com) and integration. If all confidentiality (access) requirements are met, the Reader can then access the original unaltered file and view the identity of the Writer and a date/time stamp of origination. Built-in key recovery eliminates IT support and allows Readers that do not meet the access requirements (or even if they lost the password) to still gain immediate access to the encrypted file, but only if the custodian approves the real-time request.
All file activity (including unauthorized access attempts) associated with the Biowrap encrypted file is automatically logged in the individual and enterprise Accountability Report. Real-time notifications can be set per file.
