NAEV is a 2D action/RPG (role-playing) space game that combines elements from the action, RPG and simulation genres. It uses a lot of content from Vega Strike.

Requirements on Debian-based distributions:

On debian-based distros you can install them with:

apt-get install libsdl1.2debian libsdl-image1.2 libsdl-mixer1.2 libgl1-mesa-dri libxml2 libfreetype6 libpng12-0

For compiling you'll need the additional:

apt-get install mercurial gcc make libsdl1.2-dev libsdl-image1.2-dev libsdl-mixer1.2-dev libgl1-mesa-dev libxml2-dev libfreetype6-dev libpng12-dev

What is new in this release:

  • This version adds "portable" mode, makes afterburners gradually overheat and have no fixed duration, adds active cooldown to allow rapid ship cooling, fixes typos in missions, and fixes several rare crashes.
