The Noble Ape Simulation has been developed (as the Nervana Simulation) since 1996 and is a biological simulation software. The aim of the simulation is to create a detailed biological environment and a cognitive simulation.
The Simulation is intended as a palette for open source cross-platform development. It provides a stable means of simulating large-scale environments and cognitive processes on Windows, Mac and Linux.
The Simulation includes a detailed scripting language for user-implemented movement and cognitive-process development.

- This version adds a number of bugfixes and new features, including a narrative engine, improved social interaction, and a sense of self in the Noble Apes.

- This release features light transitions on the Noble Ape environment and the addition of the initial fur patches for adding to Noble Ape bodies shortly.
- A substantial amount of code was added for creating social networks and family trees in the Simulation.
- A number of bugs were fixed.

- This version features the ape brain analysis menu options and a number of low-level bugfixes relating to genetics, reproduction, and the long-term stability.
